Automated savings work, app needs polish

I started using Qapital for the automated savings goals, specifically the 'set and forget' rule for a down payment. It's really good at moving small amounts consistently. My goal is slowly building up. The app itself can be a bit slow to load sometimes, and finding specific transactions isn't always intuitive. Customer service was quick to respond when I had a question about linking my bank, so that was a plus. Overall, it's helping me save, but the app experience could be smoother.

Good for saving

Set up a round up rule for my checking account. It's been working fine. Saw my savings grow without much thought. Easy to use, no issues.

Good value for money

As a first-time buyer, I was looking for the best way to save without much effort. The sign-up credit was a nice incentive to get started. I linked my bank and set up a few 'spend less' rules. It actually works! I checked my balances and I'm definitely putting money aside. The monthly fee is low, especially considering how much it's helping me save. I feel like I got good value for what I paid. It's worth trying if you're on a budget.

Consistent and reliable

I've been a Qapital user for over a year now, mainly for the automated savings goals. My first goal was a vacation fund, and it worked flawlessly. This time, I set up a new goal for a home repair, and the 'payday divest' rule is just as consistent as I remember. Transfers are reliable, and I still get the early payday feature which is a nice perk. No major changes since my last use, which is a good thing for me.

Love my automated savings!

Qapital is amazing! I set up a 'guilty pleasure' rule for my daily coffee habit, and I'm actually saving money without feeling like I'm missing out. The money missions are super fun too, really motivates you. I already recommended it to my sister. This app makes saving so easy and even enjoyable!

Thinking of switching from Acorns to Qapital. Has anyone used both and can tell me which one they liked better for saving?

R Richard Flores 1 month ago
I used Acorns for a bit but I prefer Qapital way more for saving. The rules are just so much more customizable and actually make me save without thinking about it. Acorns felt a bit more generic to me.

It really depends on what you want. Acorns is good for pure investing, but Qapital's saving rules are awesome for hitting specific goals. Like, I have a rule to save every time I buy coffee, and it actually works.

What happens if I put a bunch of money in Qapital and something happens to the company? Is my money safe?

E Elizabeth Anderson 2 weeks ago
Your money is FDIC insured through their partner banks. So yeah, up to the limits, it's safe even if Qapital went belly up. It's not sitting in a vault at Qapital HQ.

Yep, FDIC insured. Same as a regular bank account. Don't worry about that part.

Anyone know how long it takes to pull money out of Qapital? If I need my savings, is it like instant or does it take a few days to hit my regular bank account?

M Matt Rodriguez 3 weeks ago
From my experience, usually 2-3 business days. It's not instant like a bank transfer from your checking to savings, but it's not super slow either.

Yeah, what the other person said. Plan for a few days. Don't expect it same day or anything.

Can you link Qapital to pretty much any bank, or do they only work with certain big ones?

P Paul Brown 2 weeks ago
Pretty sure it works with most major banks and even smaller credit unions. I've had it linked to a couple different ones without any issues.

Yeah, almost any bank. They use Plaid for linking, so if your bank is on there, you're good to go. Mine's a smaller regional one and it worked fine.

Hey, thinking about trying Qapital. Is there any way to get a bonus when signing up? Like a referral code or something?

B Ben 6 days ago
Yeah, totally. I got a $10 bonus last year through a friend's referral link. You usually have to deposit some money or set up a rule for it to hit your account though.

They pretty much always have referral bonuses. Just gotta find someone who uses it already or look for a link online. Worth it for the free cash.
